Alpha Lipoic Acid
Alpha Lipoic Acid IV Drip
Self-pay treatment | Antioxidant, Metabolism Boost, Nerve Protection, Weight-loss Support
Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) is the only antioxidant that is both fat-soluble and water-soluble. It can remove free radicals in every environment within the cell, and it is also known as the "antioxidant of antioxidants" because it regenerates other antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, and glutathione.

It also promotes energy metabolism (burning of sugar and fat), supports blood sugar control, and protects nerves โ€” making it useful for weight-loss support, relief of diabetic neuropathy, and anti-aging, among other applications.
โš ๏ธ The treatment described on this page is self-pay (not covered by insurance). Because alpha lipoic acid lowers blood sugar, please consult us if you are currently using insulin or blood-glucose-lowering medication. Results vary from person to person.

Four Main Effects of Alpha Lipoic Acid
Antioxidant ยท Metabolism ยท Neuroprotection ยท Glucose Control

Alpha lipoic acid functions as a coenzyme involved in energy production within mitochondria. It reaches the mitochondria directly, improving energy efficiency while reducing oxidative stress.

โšก Antioxidant & Anti-aging
Removes free radicals in both fat-soluble and water-soluble environments, and regenerates/boosts other antioxidants (vitamin C, vitamin E, glutathione).
๐Ÿ”ฅ Boosts Metabolism & Supports Weight Loss
Acts as a coenzyme for the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex involved in burning sugar and fat, activating energy metabolism.
๐Ÿฉธ Blood Sugar Control
Increases insulin sensitivity and contributes to stable blood sugar levels. Also considered effective for those with pre-diabetes or borderline glucose levels.
๐Ÿง  Nerve Protection
Crosses the blood-brain barrier to protect nerve cells from oxidative stress. Used to relieve numbness and pain from diabetic neuropathy.
โœ“
Heavy metal detoxification: Binds to and chelates (helps eliminate) heavy metals such as mercury and arsenic, offering a detox effect as well.
โœ“
Liver protection: Supports the body's production of glutathione and protects liver cells from oxidative damage. Also effective when combined with liver-function-improving drips.
โœ“
Skin-beautifying effect: Promotes collagen production and suppresses glycation (AGE formation), helping improve skin firmness and dullness.
Recommended For Weight-loss support & metabolism boost Concerned about blood sugar levels Numbness from diabetic neuropathy Anti-aging Chronic fatigue Dull skin & lack of firmness Detox

Scientific Evidence
Peer-reviewed Research ยท Systematic Review & Meta-analysis
Latest Systematic Review & Meta-analysis (published online 2025, in print 2026)
63 randomized controlled trials
(RCTs) pooled and analyzed

A large-scale meta-analysis conducted by Mohammadi S, et al. pooled 63 RCTs published up to May 2025, comprehensively evaluating the effects of alpha lipoic acid (ALA) supplementation on cardiometabolic risk factors.

โœ… Indicators with Significant Improvement
โ†“ BMI, body weight, waist circumference, body fat mass
โ†“ Triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC)
โ†“ Fasting blood glucose (FBG)
โ†“ HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin)
โ†“ Fasting insulin, HOMA-IR
โ€” Indicators with No Significant Difference
โ†’ HDL cholesterol
โ†’ LDL cholesterol
โ†’ Systolic blood pressure (SBP)
โ†’ Diastolic blood pressure (DBP)
Conclusion: ALA supplementation may improve certain cardiometabolic risk factors through improvements in body composition and glycemic parameters, as well as lipid-lowering effects.
๐Ÿ’‰ The 600mg dose used at our clinic is the dosage range shown in dose-response analysis to be particularly effective for weight loss and blood-sugar improvement. Intravenous administration via IV drip dramatically increases absorption efficiency compared with oral intake.

Method of Administration
Dosage

Administered slowly via IV drip (approximately 30-60 minutes per session). Rapid administration may cause hypoglycemia-like symptoms (hunger, dizziness), so it is always given slowly. It can also be combined with other IV drips.

๐ŸŒฟ Consultation Process

On your first visit, we will ask about your goals (weight-loss support, antioxidant effects, neuropathy, etc.) and any medications you are currently taking, and recommend an appropriate concentration and frequency. Please be sure to let us know if you are using blood-glucose-lowering medication or insulin.

We can also suggest a custom beauty/health IV drip combined with other treatments.

Please feel free to contact us first about metabolism, antioxidant effects, or weight-loss support.
